Mom Friendly Makeup

With busy mornings full of kids and chaos, it can be a challenge to incorporate makeup into your morning routine. But with these quick tips, you can achieve easy looks that work for every occasion. Whether you have two minutes or two bus stops to work with, here’s a mom-friendly makeup routine for your lips, eyes, and cheeks.

Start With a Little Bit of Prep

Before you start applying makeup, it is important that you prioritize the prepping stage. You should always begin by washing your face. This removes dirt and grime that can get trapped under your makeup throughout the day, which can lead to acne. When choosing a face wash, consider your skin type, whether that be dry, oil-prone, or a mixture of both. The right skin care products should leave your skin feeling smoother, healthy, and happy.

After cleansing, hydrate your skin with a light serum or moisturizer of some sort. You should then apply a layer of sunscreen as it can set the stage for a flawless makeup application and protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Here are a couple of my favorite moisturizers from Amazon.  I use them everyday and they are awesome!

Pick a Color Correcting Cream

Instead of layering on foundation to cover any redness or blemishes, try opting for a color correcting cream or CC cream instead. These creams combine the benefits of blemish balms (BB creams) with the added advantage of color correction. The beauty of CC creams lies in their versatility as they can serve as both a primer and foundation, simplifying your makeup application process.

They are often sheer and loaded with benefits, often including SPF protection, which streamlines your morning routine by eliminating the need for an additional sunscreen. One of the standout features of CC creams is their ability to even out your skin tone seamlessly. This means you can bid farewell to concerns about blending or appearing oily as the day progresses.  If you are new to correcting cream I would try the Latrice One Step Color Corrector and then progress to the Pur 4-in-1… hope you love them as much as I do.

Add Some Concealer

One thing we moms know all too well is how it feels to be lacking sleep. However, with a little bit of touching up, you can at least look more awake than you may actually be. To brighten up your under-eye area and conceal any dark spots, opt for a concealer over a heavy foundation or flaky powder.

A few dots of concealer strategically placed under the eyes instantly illuminate your complexion. The best part? There is no need for extra tools; simply use your fingers or a makeup brush to blend the product for a seamless finish gently.

Don’t Forget the Blush!

When you are really in a time crunch (which we almost
always seem to be), skip the bronzer and reach for your blush instead. Adding a
pop of color to your cheeks effortlessly imparts a radiant, refreshed
appearance. You can apply blush like a pro by focusing on the apples of your
cheeks, which are
the rounded part of your cheek bones. When applying
blush, gently sweep the brush upwards toward the top of your ear for a naturally
flushed look.  Look, there’s so many blushes out there. Just check out some and see which one(s) you like. Don’t forget the brush!

Here’s a bonus tip: Once you’ve applied blush to
your cheeks, use whatever residue is left on the brush as an eyeshadow for a
quick and easy daytime look. And if your blush is a multi-stick, you can even
use it on your lips to add a pop of color.
